the mirror life thing is bull, total cap. anyone with a deep understanding of immunology would tell you, that the sheer complexity of what your adaptive immunity can learn to detect is so vast, it doesen't matter a bit if theres mostly R amino acids in an organism. also, the PRRs we rely on for innate immunity recognize a lot of non-protein structures, mostly weird sugars, so also no problem with chirality there. maybe neutrophils are affectd, cause they rely partially on bacterial protein, but also on sugars via TLR, so the fast system is probably just a bit affected. and the super mega fast system, the most important one to quickly drown out bacteria, which is complement, can activate by the "alternative pathway" (amongst others), which is a continuous low leve activation of the first operator in the casacde (C3), which is specifically inhibited by surface proteins of the HOST (you own cells make this protein and put it on their "skin"), like CD55, which inhibit complement. while some super adapted bacteria do express analogues of proteins like CD55 which have evolved specifically to circumvent this first step of complement activation, malong this system behave as if the bacteria was your own cell, this is an exceedingly rare adaptation, and it is questionable if this could even work with morror proteins, and if it could it would take a VERY long time to evolve bcs the proteins are so fhndamentally different, so arguably these bacteria have a significantly harder time than any "normal" bacteria to circumvent the fastest and most important anti-bacterial protection of the body, and most other systems don't seem likley to have big problems with the mirror proteins or potentially mirrored DNA, so these bacteria would be pretty much harmless. the problem is, to survive as a foreign body inside a human, you need SPECIFIC counter measures, because a lot of our protection is non-specific, a lot of it filters literally by our own cells having a complicated "passport" (actually many different ones, but one of them is CD55) that the bacteria would have to "fake" to survive. the idea that "mirror life" is so dangerous kinda needs the theory that our immune ...
