I’m a therapist and I agree it sucks. We’re only legally allowed to practice in the state we’re licensed. There’s no good solution here unfortunately

Wait this isn’t just BetterHelp though. That’s how licensing works nationally. The U.S does it state by state which is just awful for our care. I’ve had a clinician work with me off the books and off of any platform or insurance records to make living between states while

noooo i hate this experience for you! i am a licensed clinical social worker in CO and my license allows me to see clients that are traveling out of the state (as long as they are still a resident of CO)- so it could be just an issue with that therapists' license

it’s worth looking on BPS website and they have a list of therapists that are licensed in the UK, some offer a free session first. I had a mixed experience with it but I think that’s just therapy summed up 💀
