@wildlifeaid: Back from the dead?! 😲 Just look at that swelling – what a shiner! 💔 This dishevelled little dove was brought to us in an awful state, with a huge swelling around her eye, a large tick just below it, and extreme weakness throughout her body. This brave dove was on the verge of death. And soon after being admitted, her heart stopped… 💔 But our vets weren’t ready to give up on her. After some very gentle chest compressions and being given oxygen, this little trooper came around! 🪽 She was then quickly treated with eye drops and fluids to help stabilise her, before being placed in a warm incubator to help her recover. She remains under careful monitoring to ensure all her needs are met during her recovery. Fortunately, the swelling is beginning to subside, but she certainly isn’t out of the woods, yet. We believe that with WAF’s help, in time, she’ll be fit enough to return to the wild. 💚 As winter draws near, and the light fades faster, birds like this dove find themselves more vulnerable than ever.
