Extremely tragic. I wonder if you have worked in that setting? it doesn't seem like it. Children pretend ALL the time in order to go to the nurses office, which is usually bombarded with students. Overcrowded nurses offices mean very little actual nursing being done. Some schools don't have a nurse and are looked after the school secretary or other front office staff that have very little first aid training. At our school we did have an AED (sorry, I haven't been an employee there for over a year). That's a device that's a defibrillator to restart the heart. Anyway, we have to see both sides of this, as I am sure the police and school district is doing. Let them do a thorough investigation before you say, "why haven't you pulled your child out of this school"?
