Theres several points in this musical actually where their descent can be heard in the melody. Specifically in jane does song while shes harmonizing as her character is lifted into the air. The melody shes singing is literally the mimicking of the screams heard as the coaster went up and down, and up and down, and finally derailed as she is lowered to the ground on a high standing note. Jane does melody gives us a first person perspective of what it was like ON THE RIDE before it happened

I thought I was crazy but the repetition of "round and round and round" gave me the impression of them FALLING in a way that was SPINNING the car?? Followed by the drop in beat with the xylophone (??) i always thought that was kinda cut back to the moments within the town PRIOR to getting on the coaster hence why it describes "empty streets of empty shops! shuddered rows of moms and pops, bow down to your mega shopping mall!" .

I didn’t realize there was so much discourse around the design of the cyclone this is like the tenth video I’ve gotten in three days 😭 I always imagined it with only one loop, cus this is a little dinky county fair, not a theme park. The ride has to be easy to tear down, transport, and rebuild, multiple loop de loops would just be too much imo

also its a carnival ride like u would see at the fair or something, there aren't really fair rides with a bunch of crazy loops bc they have to be able to put it up and take it down easily

now I'm not an expert and have not gotten around to watching the musical yet but I believe the cover is what the children FELT while being derailed. they're kids, obviously it's gonna seem a lot more dramatic to them!

not to mention, i’m pretty sure that people were saying that the coaster on the cover could be just what they felt WHILE derailing😭 never did they say there were multiple loops, it was a fair and they had to get equipment packed in so they can move on

There is only one real-world Cyclone roller coaster with a loop-de-loop (the latter of its two inversions). It’s in Dreamworld Australia and has since been renamed to Gold Coaster. That park has had a crash on a different ride in 2016, resulting in 4 fatalities and 2 injuries.

literally any other type of inversions could easily give the effect of “round and round,” not just loops. people are failing to see that detail. idk i feel like we need a properly educated thoosie to make a video on it. i’m too lazy to do so.

Musicals only work if its interesting for it to be a musical. Like, Little Shop of Horrors. Part of the fun is the plant sings. They do NOT need to sing in Ride the Cyclone, just say it.

I really dont think it was a crazy coaster, it has to be a suitcase ride built by carnies. at best it would resemble the whizzer at six flags if someone wanted a round and round effect without a loop de loop, but with a loop de loop I think itd look like the actual cyclone ride + the original loop the loop attraction coney island used to have in the 1900's
