@konah619: One wrong grab of a live wire cost him both arms for twenty three years. 😳 In January 1998, Icelandic electrician Felix Gretarsson took an 11,000 volt shock and fell into a three month coma. He later battled addiction and needed liver transplants. Years later he asked French surgeon Jean Michel Dubernard if new arms were possible. In January 2021, a team led by surgeon Aram Gazarian in Lyon, France, carried out the world’s first double arm and shoulder transplant. 🙏 The surgery lasted fifteen hours. Months later, he said he could move his elbow in water. 💪 Imagine waiting decades just to hug your family again. Hope can outlast even the longest wait. 📌 Sources: AFP and The Guardian reports on the Lyon transplant, January 2021. Upworthy, June 2021. The Brighter Side of News, July 2021.
