1) gossip that's actually TRUE telling someone's real faults to people who didn't know, with no good reason, is a sin called detraction (CCC 2477). it's not lying, because what you say is true. that's why it's so easy to miss. but it still hurts their name, and a name is hard to win back. try this today: "Say Nothing Unkind for a Day" about anyone who isn't in the room. SLIDE 3 2) envy you call COMPARING the Catechism calls envy sadness at the sight of someone else's good things, and wanting them for yourself (CCC 2539). it's one of the seven deadly sins. today it mostly looks like scrolling: their trip, their house, their life, and a small sting every time. try this today: "Mute Who You Compare To." mute one account you always compare yourself to. SLIDE 4 3) never actually THANKING God the Catechism lists ingratitude as a sin against God's love: not seeing what he gives you, and not loving him back (CCC 2094). most of us only pray when we need something. we ask for a lot and thank him for very little. try this today: "Light a Candle" and thank God out loud for one specific thing.
