He’s not wrong a man is supposed to protect the family he created… what he needs to do is have lunch / dinner with her and set the record straight let her know her boundaries and if she cannot respect those boundaries then she’s not welcome at the end of the day she has a choice to get her act together

This is sad but apparently it’s a reality to most families and mostly mothers-in-law, I love OP for standing his ground and making this situation an example for where to draw the line, one should protect the family you make not one you came from if they are being disrespectful!
