Clearly not a Bible teaching church. Just because the Old Testament reports polygamy was occurring does not mean that God accepted it. Genesis 2:24 Establishes the one-flesh marriage pattern. Matthew 19:4–6 Jesus grounds His teaching in that original pattern. 1 Corinthians 7:2–5 Presents reciprocal marital obligations between husbands and wives. 1 Timothy 3:2 Requires an overseer to be “the husband of one wife.” Titus 1:6 Repeats the qualification for elders. Deuteronomy 17:17 Warns Israel's king against multiplying wives. Exodus 21:10–11 Regulates a particular marital arrangement and protects the woman's rights; it doesn't command polygamy.

Polygynous is correct. It’s when a man has multiple wives. Polygamous is when someone has multiple spouses. Polyandrous is when a woman has multiple husbands.

Polygyny is actually the correct word for when there are multiple wives. Polygamy just means multiple spouses (either husbands or wives). So she’s right in saying the marriage polygynous rather than polygamous
