I remember an askreddit response about someone’s friend who tattooed most of his face green. He also got fired from his job, and ended up destitute (iirc)

As a foreigner it’s very true about tattoo’s. a lot of bath houses and hot spring in Japan will REFUSE to serve you as tattoo’s are associated with the yakuza which is basically the Japanese mafia. If you plan on going and have tattoo’s hide them, any of them, especially if you want to go to a nice place you are very likely to get turned down. Learned this when I looked into traveling in Japan which kinda sucks but also understandable as they don’t wanna risk it.
