I do this, and also buy roast and do the same. I do put oil on them and seasons and then wrap individually in saran wrap and freeze in a freezer bag.

Ribeyes are around $19/lb in the grocery stores, I always buy the whole slab and cut them myself making it roughly $10/lb. Much better value for a little bit of work

Just curious how you packaged these to be frozen? Do you wrap in saran wrap and then tinfoil or do you put them in Ziploc freezer bags?
