as far as our income hers is hers and mine is mine. we split all our bills down the middle and we have a great and happy life.

My wife and I did not do this. she has her finances, i have mine, and because I love her and make more than she does. of she wants or needs anything I am happy to get it for her, and in turn she never abuses that kindness

My husband wants to handle the bills because he had his life go bad before. So he wants to feel secure about the money situation. So when we combined everything, we sat down and found the total then split everything 50/50. Then put that much to the side towards the bills each pay check. Whatever is left over then we have that for ourselves.

My boyfriend and I keep our finances separate and will most likely continue to do so after we get married. We both have different hobbies that can get pretty expensive, so it's less of a headache to keep our money separate instead of having to tell each other every time we want to buy something. BUT we have two joint accounts, one for savings and one for paying our bills. Our paychecks don't go into those accounts, but we both contribute and transfer money into them. It's what works for us 🤷♀️
