One time a customer needed something and couldn’t find it, I spent the time to try and help them. When I got back to my dept. I got the third degree by a team lead, told her what happened and still got told off. So the next time a customer asked for assistance, I politely told the customer, I’m sorry, but my team lead tracks every minute I’m not doing my job, you’ll have to find another associate to help you. This customer complained to the store manager, I got called into the office and my team lead went with me. The same team lead that chewed me out. I told the store manager, this team lead chewed my ass out once for helping a customer, so this time I told the customer that my team lead tracks every single minute I work and couldn’t help them.

Omg I had a former boss ask me why I was away from my desk for 3 minutes and when I said I was in the bathroom she said I needed to decide what was important to me and we were having a meeting to discuss it at noon. I walked out! So ridiculous
