@fidem33: What did the early Christians do for over 1500 years, before the printing press was invented? The Bible as we know it didn’t exist.

The same way all knowledge was passed on before the printing press. Hand written documents. Do you question the accounts of Romans, Greeks or earlier cultures?

Scripture has always existed but the Catholic had you believe you could t read the scripture without Catholic authority so therefore people believed what the church preached without questioning them. It still happens today even though scripture is more available today then the early church days

really so scripture didn't exist you say ? the Old Testament and letters and writing of the apostles just sat there unread until the Catholic Church invented itself ? the Holy Spirit inspired 40 men over 1400 years to give mankind the complete Word of God and used any tool he wished to do so and to even suggest otherwise is committing the one sin that Jesus told us was unpardonable in Matthew 12:31 and that is blasphemy against the Holy Spirit !

Glad you didn’t say. What did the early Catholics do ? Because there is no such thing as someone being called a Catholic. They were known as Christians not Catholics . Until Constantine and Rome created a denomination called Catholics.

The Bible was hand copied by monks until the printing press was invented. The transcribed it painstakingly letter by letter. Bibles were expensive and only one per village usually. The Church chained them to the pulpit so no one would steal it. Getting a new Bible could take years if it got stolen.
