I let my son have his binky at night and naps until he was 4. But awake time he could not have it.

The important thing is that once you cut them off, you HAVE to stand strong. Do not cave or you're essentially restarting the timer and adding another week to the withdrawal. Give them Tylenol before bed to help with the teething and do fun things during the day to wear them out and distract them.

We did the binky fairy method. Left them out and a toy arrived. Still very hard and you have to stick to it

You have to say NO and mean it. You can’t vacillate or this will never end. My boys pediatrician had me take theirs away at one year. Cold turkey is what you have to do. They will live through it with no lasting trauma. My boys are 43 and 40 years old. No memory of having it taken from them. There will always be teething, sickness, etc you have to just do it. They need to figure out for themselves what will comfort and soothe them. I don’t think it’s something you can do for them. Based on what you have said they are doing more harm than good at this point. Be the parent, the strong one and just do it. Once you have gotten through it you will see how much better off they are. You’ve got this

Maybe start with only giving them their pacifier when it’s bedtime ( or nap time) and not during the day

My granddaughter is 18 months old, they just took it away except for naps and bedtime. It was a little tough for about 3 days. We just would focus her attention on something else when she wanted to cry for it. They are taking it at bedtime over Christmas break. I would say that will definitely be harder. I did cold turkey with boy my boys at 18 months. They cried the first couple of nights, but after that were fine. 🤷🏻♀️

Mom to 21 month old twin boys. Do not put so much pressure onto weaning them at night. It can cause so many sleep disturbances during nap and bedtime that it becomes a terrible cycle. Talked to my twins pediatric dentist that said it is totally fine waiting until age 3. Teeth will shift back at that age. Thankfully mine have no teeth shifts. Mine love MAM pacis. Switched them to MAM supreme ones that are thinner at the part teeth rest against. They are only allowed the pacis at nap and bedtime. Their pacis are the only things that help them self soothe at night. They have 6 glow in dark pacis each in their crib. If you want to wean so bad I would try day weaning first. I'm waiting until mine are closer to 3

My daughter was the same, literally obsessed. I took it away at 4 years old and I should’ve let her keep it longer. They grow up so fast
