I am so SICK of how Marvel treats their POC and female characters. Ironheart was fantastic, but the marketing was abysmal. Don't even get me started on Wonder Man, cause I didn't hear ANYTHING about it until I heard folk talk about it being cancelled. They've ignored Shuri, Monica Rambo and Kamala Khan. And WHERE have Shang Chi and Wong BEEN?

Yeah im not even black but its frustrating to see how they handle black characters. Cancelling blade was bs and wonderman not getting a second season AND all the episodes of season 1 dropped at the same time which they didn’t do for other shows is very telling.

If you’re still confused… in an ideal world, the joke would just be funny awkward humor. HOWEVER we live in the world where black characters in the MCU, especially Sam, have been neglected and rejected by both viewers and writers. In the end, the joke really just highlights those issues. At first glance, I thought it was funny, but when you really think about the state that black heroes have been in… it really blows.

It's not even that hard. I've been a fan of Steve since the beginning. And I called Sam Cap when I was watching Brave New World (the joys of watching it from home since I missed seeing it in theaters no one can see my weirdness!) so it can't be that hard for Scott to call Sam Cap.

It’s also the MCUs fault they made Sam get eclipsed by Red Hulk and made him care more about working with the American and Israeli governments instead of breaking Isaiah out of prison so he wouldn’t continue to be tortured by the state

I agree 100 percent. I’m not excited for doomsday, it’s already totally nostalgia bait but the main thing is that the mcu has treated poc horribly. Sam as cap gets no attention and they barely tried with his movie, they also cancelled wonder man season two despite great reviews and the lead actor getting an Emmy nom,they never made the blade movie, they treat the iron heart show like it never existed, and now are ignoring Monica rambeau and Kamala khan. They are also generally crapping on their female characters. Like in all doomsday promo for the new avengers characters ghost gets no attention. There’s a pattern here! Doomsday has like 40 male characters in it and like seven women. the x men are in this movie and we don’t get storm or Jean grey, some of the strongest X-men? But we get Channing Tatum as a fan service gambit. Cool. They clearly decided to play into the incel fans that don’t want poc and women. It’s so frustrating to see them cave, We never needed steve rogers back, his story was over

the joke would have worked better if sam had actually been doing more as captain america and been captain america more and he was having maybe phone calls with other people checking up on them (like a friend or hero should) but the only one he doesnt call is Scott cause Scott is either busy or just unavailable ya know then its just he hasnt been around.....hmmm its almost like THEY SHOULD USE SAM MORE

John chimes in and says, “I was Captain America for a while” and Scott says, “CaptainS. CaptainS America.” So yeah, it really isn’t anything and y’all are just making something out of nothing

I literally never cared about Steve Rogers until Sam Wilson was introduced. the most significant thing he ever did, as far as I'm concerned, was give that shield to who it belongs to: Sam Wilson. I would not have cared about the new Captain America anymore than I did the first, if it was anyone other than Sam Wilson. I swear to god, I've already seen too much of that white man and I haven't even watched the second trailer. PLEASE get this man off my screen immediately. this is an Avengers movie, I'm literally just here to see the real Captain America (Sam Wilson).
