I understand that as a darkskin girl some shades don’t work for you but lighter skin black girls need shades that work as well and transition everyone likes different things thing for other races may not work for lighter skin female and they need the ones she is making to be inclusive

Definitely understand y’all getting upset with my opinion of some of them being ashy. In makeup everything is geared toward lighter complexions and it IS a big deal as a dark skin girl having products that look good on me. Juvias place has been that for me. Yes my wordings could be better but I’m standing 10 toes down on MY OPINION

Man its actually hilarious to see in the comments how even our own people react the minute a video makes darker skin the default people rather than light skin. Apparently you can’t say a blush will be too ashy because “lighter skin exists” (baby we know), but no one bats an eye when lighter skin people review makeup and say a blush might be “too dark”. We’re so conditioned to treat light skin as the default that calling something ashy gets people acting like you said makeup brands can never make products for light skin people ever again

i do find it weird that most of the new shades don’t suit dark skin. juvias place is a black african owned brand that championed producing pigments to suit darker skin. i also find it weird that juvia hasn’t done any real promo for their drops since maybe 2020. why are there no swatch pics on any of their products online??

I don’t think they are ashy. I just think they’re making more shades and extending and just because it doesn’t fit one person doesn’t mean it’s going to be ashy on everybody! 😁

yall jumping on this creator but hell some of the shades do look ashy. not even in a it doesn’t go with my skin tone way, like some look like chalk vs the usual pigment of shades I’m use to seeing with JP

I’m confused. Because I saw about 4 that would work perfectly on deep dark tones. The entire line is inclusive so not EVERY blush will be for just dark women. I wouldn’t have even touched the lighter blushes
