Minnesotan here. I'm all for as little snow as possible as long as it does get cold enough to form some good ice. I very much enjoy going out on a frozen lake that didn't have snow because it generally means that the ice is very clear and it makes me feel more comfortable being out there when I can see if there's mass of air pockets within the ice so I know to avoid them because I've had it where I walked over one of those and ended up falling in because the air bubble took up 10 of the 12 in of ice
