I've never had any physical pain relieved by cannabis.

My wife has chronic pain from fibro and long Covid and she can't use cannabis because it makes her pain way worse

I have fibromyalgia. I would say that cannabis changes the way I survive with pain. Chronic pain wears you out. Being able to disassociate from it helps a LOT.

I once landed myself in the ER when I threw my back out and couldn’t move. They loaded me up with morphine so my muscles could relax enough to get an xray. When the dr came to check to see how I was feeling I told him, “everything feels the same, I just don’t care anymore.” 😳 Pain meds are SCARY.

I have post operative neuropathic pain. I was told by a pain specialist that our brains start ignoring pain signals they've repeatedly received for two years, which is why chronic pain becomes more bearable after time. But if you have a condition that has flare-ups, that two years resets with each flare. I had a VATS pleurectomy followed by an open thoracotomy. I suffer from recurrent pneumothoraces, and with each one, my pain restarts. Your thoughts?

doesn't CBD also act as a muscle relaxant?

when I was first diagnosed with multiple herniated discs, quite similar to the MRI in this video, my doctor wouldn't prescribe anything to me for pain and said "your body will just dissolve the herniation over time". It only got worse, and thankfully I have a different doctor now.

So the study actually can’t say anything about women and how it affects them. Kind of like most of them, we’re never included and shock horror, turns out things don’t work on us the same. Or at all.

is there a way to study if there are too many cannabinoid receptors in the brain and not enough cannabinoids made naturally in the body?

Yeah, I was also confused why something that supposedly increased your senses could possibly be used as a pain killer
I have mechanical pain from joint hypermobility, ibuprofen does nothing for me 😭

Wait what do you meant left handed people have different pathways? How does this impact experiences of pain?

is there any science for or against getting drunk after an emotional hardship e.g. a breakup? I thought that the cultural prominence of the practice led to an association of the emotional pain with the hangover and so as the latter relieved, one felt the former less keenly, which helped and was the reason the practice persisted, but if be interested in any evidence either way

Of all the mechanisms medications use for pain relief which do you think is coolest? That just made you go “wait it does -that-?! Neat!”
