Come with us to an event with Hope Kids at the aquarium. 🐠💙 I think it’s safe to say everyone enjoyed themselves, but watching Penny girl enjoy it all was something I’ll never forget. 🥹 Sometimes I don’t realize just how badly we need moments like this until we’re in the middle of one. Our life can feel like a never-ending cycle of medications, seizures, appointments, specialists, therapies, hospital stays, G-tube care, phone calls, paperwork, and advocating for Penny every single day. So much of our time is spent being nurses, therapists, advocates, and caregivers that sometimes we forget what it feels like to simply be Mom and Dad. To just take our kids somewhere. To laugh. To explore. To make memories. To watch their faces light up. To not think about what comes next. Hope Kids gives families like ours something that is hard to put into words: the chance to pause the medical life for a little while and just be a family. And watching Penny experience the aquarium, seeing her happy and taking it all in, reminded me that underneath all the appointments, diagnoses, medications, and hard days… she is just a little girl who deserves to have fun, make memories, and enjoy being a kid. 🥹🩷 These are the moments I want to hold onto. The moments where we aren’t worrying. We aren’t fighting. We aren’t advocating. We aren’t in a hospital. We’re just together. Just parents. Just kids. Just a family making memories. Thank you, Hope Kids, for reminding us to slow down and enjoy the life we are working so hard to give our babies. 🩷🐠✨ #medicalmama #medicaldad #drugresistantepilepsy #gtubedependant #disabilityadvocate
