Prada’s Holiday 2026 campaign, “Drawing Prada,” brings the charm of traditional animation into a world of fashion and winter fantasy. Subtitled “Animated by Hand,” the campaign takes inspiration from classic Hollywood and winter fairy tales, combining live-action scenes with hand-drawn landscapes and expressive animal characters. Behind the illustrated worlds is a team of artists led by animation director John Pomeroy, whose work has contributed to major animated productions over the past five decades. Their drawings create the settings and characters that give the campaign its playful spirit, placing its protagonists inside scenes that recall the wonder of childhood storybooks. Glen Luchford’s photography brings these imagined worlds into close conversation with reality. Lighting and perspective were carefully considered to correspond with the hand-drawn illustrations, allowing the photographed figures and animated surroundings to feel part of the same scene. Across the images and short films, snowy settings, curious creatures and Prada’s clothes and accessories become elements of a shared visual story. The campaign stars Chen Haoyu, Luther Ford, Kelvin Harrison Jr., Maya Hawke and Sadie Sink. Moving through these fantastical environments, they bring a contemporary presence to a visual language rooted in traditional storytelling. There is a sense of discovery throughout, with familiar winter imagery transformed through unexpected encounters and playful details. At its heart, “Drawing Prada” celebrates the human side of creation: the imagination behind a character, the skill within an illustration and the emotional connections that stories carry from one generation to the next. The almost tactile quality of the drawings makes that craftsmanship visible, connecting the campaign’s storytelling to the attention to making that sits at the centre of Prada’s creative approach. Creative direction: Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons Photography: Glen Luchford Animation direction: John Pomeroy Campaign creative direction: Ferdinando Verderi #fashionisnotis #prada #holiday #campaign #handart
