@shoobslundkiss: A nightmare turned honor. We were not ready to let go of my amazing father, Johnny Lema, Uncle Fatty and many more to so many others.. but what an honor to try to extend his life through passing it to others. Mayo Clinic and all of our family and friends; thank you for showing up for my dad’s Honor Walk on October 24th 2026. #honorwalk #mayoclinic #pianoman
As a donor recipient less than a month ago I thank you and Johnny. I can now breathe because my donor and family were selfless. We as recipients will be forever grateful.

My hubby is still living 20 years after a hero gave him his liver. He has been able to watch his grandchildren grow to adults. RIP Hero.

as a nurse, I can’t witness an honor walk without crying. and no matter how many I’ve been to, they all hit me hard. your father is a hero and it’s unfortunate that a life needs to end to save other people sometimes. I can’t imagine a harder thing to go through. you’re so strong for posting this

I always make it a point to attend honor walks, but I can never keep it together. Witnessing someone’s final act of generosity is truly the highest form of selflessness.

Don’t stop sharing stories about him, sharing funny moment that happened, and visiting places you guys went together. I’ll keep you and your family in my prayers. Please reach out if you need a shoulder to lean on, I see you and I feel your pain because I have lost loved ones too. May he rest peacefully. 💐🤍🕊️

Hi. I don't know if you'll ever see this, but I was in your shoes last year saying goodbye to my uncle as he went past those doors to his organ retrieval surgery. Sending you all the love and light in the world from a fellow donor family member 💚 It's a crazy process, one filled with trauma, devastation, and sadness but also pride for your loved one to live on in someone else. Give yourself the grace and space to feel all of it. The whole thing is the sourest lemon, but knowing he saved three people, and gave so many others a better life through organ and tissue donation is the closest thing we have that resembles lemonade from the whole situation.
