Leyna Update 🤍❄️ (October 26th) Some days you just have to dress up like Elsa and let it all go. Leyna is doing fairly well as we prepare for another important week. Tomorrow, we’re hoping her blood counts have recovered enough for her to receive her postponed VAC chemotherapy treatment. She’s experienced some chills and hasn’t felt her best, although she hasn’t developed a fever. With a few siblings also feeling under the weather, we’re praying she stays healthy. Wednesday is another important day. Along with her scheduled Neulasta injection, we’ll meet with the radiation team in Colorado Springs to determine whether they can safely accommodate her five weeks of daily radiation. Since the clinic primarily treats adults and doesn’t have dedicated pediatric services, there are several considerations for a six-year-old. By the end of this week, Leyna should reach the halfway point of chemotherapy. Next week, she’ll have her MRI on November 2, followed by a review with Dr. Kerr on November 4. We’ll also finalize plans with her radiation team, with treatment expected to begin the following week. That next phase will include radiation five days a week alongside continued chemotherapy. Another evaluation is anticipated in early January, when we’re praying for encouraging news about her tumor. With this heavier treatment schedule approaching and my return to full-time work, we’re navigating another adjustment as a family. Please pray for Leyna’s health, strong blood counts, encouraging scans, and clarity on where radiation will take place. We’re also praying for the strength and wisdom to manage everything ahead while caring for our family. Thank you for your continued prayers, encouragement, and support. We’re grateful for everyone walking alongside us. One day at a time, trusting the Lord. #cancer #childhoodcancer #gofundme
