Except Oregon has a high income tax (I’m an Oregonian in the nursing field). Washington has no income tax. Dollar for dollar Washington is better.

Nope you’re wrong!!! San Francisco CVICU RN here night shift and there is no OT in this pay haven’t done OT in years and I have 5 more checks left this year. In my deductions is tax, insurance and 403b which my job contributes to as well. And please don’t tell me about cost of living I have a house, car and a boat. Not to mention the entire month of March pay is missing bc I was on FMLA. Living my best life!!

I make 140k a year in California about 30 minutes from the Oregon boarder. My last job in Oregon paid me over 20 dollars less per hour and had worse benefits and the houses are actually more expensive in that town than in the California town I live in. No thanks. 😂

Umm...Cali is unmatched for its unions in the medical field. The cost of living is high but there is also very little turn over like there is in the rest of the nation. I've never ever seen happier nurses or doctors than when I lived in Cali. It reflects in the patient care.

Only place a nurse will be making that in Oregon is if you live in Portland. I’ve lived in Oregon my entire nursing career. The income tax is ridiculous and the only place you’ll make a good amount is in Portland
