@asma.app: “I have never done a single good deed. When I die, burn me.” The Prophet ﷺ told of a man before us whom Allah had given wealth. When death came to him, he asked his sons, “What kind of father have I been to you?” They said, “The best of fathers.” He said, “I have never done a single good deed. When I die, burn me, then grind me to dust, then scatter me on a stormy day.” (Sahih al-Bukhari 3478, from Abu Sa‘id al-Khudri) In Abu Hurayra’s narration, he asked that half of him be scattered on the land and half in the sea, and when he died they did what he had told them. (Sahih Muslim 2756a) “Allah commanded the sea, and it gathered what was in it, and He commanded the land, and it gathered what was in it.” (Sahih al-Bukhari 7506) “…And there he was, standing. He said, ‘What made you do what you did?’ He said, ‘O my Lord, fear of You.’ So He forgave him.” (Sahih al-Bukhari 3481, from Abu Hurayra) Al-Ghaffar, the Ever-Forgiving.
