@countryrebel: Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis signed an executive order honoring the legacy of the late country artist John Anderson, who died at the age of 71 on Oct. 21. Through this executive order, Anderson's 1992 hit "Seminole Wind" — which has been the unofficial state anthem since its release — will now be the state's official anthem. "Anderson's songbook reflects an effort to incorporate Florida's history, heritage, and landscapes into his writing, positively impacting the protection of natural Florida at a critical time in the state's growth and development," the executive order reads. Other measures included in the executive order will see historic markers placed in Apopka, Florida, where Anderson was born, as well as naming the wildlife drive and trail system within Lake Apopka North Shore after the country artist, dubbing it the John Anderson Wildlife Drive and Trail System. This stretch of land, the executive order notes, is "a national treasure that has benefited from the conservation-minded stewardship Anderson inspired through 'Seminole Wind.'"
