@philly.grit: THE "ANY QB WOULD WIN IN PHILLY" TAKE IS THE LAZIEST ONE IN FOOTBALL, AND THE NUMBERS PROVE IT 59-28 when Jalen Hurts starts. 6-14-1 when he doesn't. That's not a coincidence, and it's not "the system." Jalen Hurts IS the system. Every time the Eagles win, somebody on the internet says the offensive line did it, or the coaching staff, or the weapons, or that any quarterback could have won with this roster. It's ridiculous. If it were true, the Eagles wouldn't fall off a cliff the second Hurts isn't on the field. They go from a team that wins roughly two out of every three games to one that wins fewer than one in three. That's the gap between a contender and a team picking in the top ten. And you don't have to go back far to see it. This franchise was 4-9-1 in 2020 before Hurts took over. Since he became the guy, Philly has been a perennial playoff team, an NFC champion, and a Super Bowl winner. The roster is great, and that's exactly the point. A great roster needs a quarterback who makes it work, and Hurts does the things a box score doesn't capture. He wins on third-and-long with his legs. He wins in the red zone by being a runner defenses can't account for. He wins in the fourth quarter by refusing to flinch, and he sets the temperature of the entire locker room. When the lights get bright, he gets calmer. That's what people don't get. You can't just plug in another QB and run the same offense. The tush push works because of him. The RPOs work because defenders have to respect him as a runner. The play-action works because defenses are terrified of him pulling it down. Take him out and you don't get the same offense with a different guy. You get a different offense, and a much worse one. Every great team has a player the whole thing is built around. Kansas City has Mahomes. Baltimore has Lamar. Buffalo has Josh Allen. Nobody says those teams would be fine with a random replacement, but with Hurts, people act like he's a passenger. He's the driver. So the next time somebody tells you Jalen Hurts is just a product of the system, show them the record. 59-28 with him. 6-14-1 without him. That's the whole argument.
