@kelseablairee: We slept trained Noah at around 8 months BUT toddlers go through all kinds of sleep changes, including moving into the big boy bed 👀 . I refuse to move forward without a plan because I just know without one, I’ll be waking up to him beside my bed 🙃….and I’m trying to keep my 7-8 hours of peaceful sleep. I am so glad I found @Betteroo because they personalize sleep plans for families based on where you are at now and what your goals are. The planner in me is so happy right now! #toddlermoms #sleeptraining #momadvice #momhacks

I was TERRIFIED to convert Roman’s bed to a toddler bed. We just did it this past weekend.

also, if you're scared of him coming in and out of his bed, what you can do is play with him in his bed. so we got a floor bed specifically because we wanted enough space to be able to be in the bed with him. in any case that he's sick or doesn't feel like sleeping on his own, we can always lay with him. my husband is even 6'2 and fits in there very comfortably and what helped us was playing in the bed with him to get him comfortable and associate a good pattern with the bed rather than this is where I get forced to go to sleep and my parents leave me for a long period of time until the sun comes up. he usually just sits there with us. we read books in bed. we play with toys before we go to bed. we have his stuffed bunny in his bed and that has helped keep him in his bed without it feeling forced

so something that we chose to do this might not be for everyone of course. but when my son was around 11 months old, I decided to switch him from his crib to a floor bed now we got a twin XL. there's a difference between a twin and a twin XL because a twin XL is basically a larger version of a twin in width, not length. so it's still the length of a twin size bed, but it is wider to accommodate more space but not take up space in the room. so son has a floor bed that we started using since he was around 11 months old and he has been sleeping. they're very well and just recently at around 14 months old he was able to learn how to crawl in and out of his floor bed. now we are 23 months old, almost 2 years old. in next month and he is flying out of his bed pretty much. but I have also decided to leave his playpen open in his room so he can go in and out. but he has been sleeping there. we did take the railing off of the crib and we tried that but it wasn't enough space for him. it was still the same amount of space so he didn't like that and when we gave him the twin XL it was a little more space with wise which caused him to not squirm or cry
