My work Mac is M1 Pro 32 / 2T and my personal is m5 Pro 48 / 2T - I feel ZERO difference in daily use - coder , heavy dev work - web, docker, k8s plus some Video editing and light local AI models on m5 .. Just saying 😏

ima keep it real with u i write kernels (gpu kind, not os kind) and 150 gb/s vs 170 gb/s is not a big deal. both are pretty piss poor for intensive computation (cough llms) aren’t there apple chips that can do like 500-600 gb/s? a 5090 is in the 1,800 gb/s range.

Rec for smooth performance on light room cloud? Rn on a Mac book air m1or2 I think. And I upgraded ram. But on masking and removal tool I get lag. And just so much stutters out of nowhere
