@myroadtripsplanner: Have you ever driven across a covered bridge connecting two different states? On my road trip to Canada, I made a stop at the historic Cornish–Windsor Covered Bridge, connecting Windsor, Vermont, and Cornish, New Hampshire, over the Connecticut River! Built in 1866 for just $9,000, this bridge stretches approximately 450 feet and holds the distinction of being the longest two-span covered bridge in the world! But here’s some interesting history! This is actually the fourth bridge built at this location. Earlier bridges were destroyed by flooding and ice. Travelers once had to pay a toll to cross until 1943, and after a major restoration in 1989, the bridge continues to carry vehicles today. More than 160 years of history, and you can still drive right through it! Would you make a stop here on your next road trip? The road’s open, let’s drive! #CornishWindsorBridge #Vermont #NewHampshire #CoveredBridges #DJI
