@alabamas_42: Calera residents are upset that comments made by the Mayor at home - which prompted an executive session in early October and a public apology during a recent council meeting - have not been shared. Calera City Councilors say the comments do not represent their personal values or the City's. Residents push for resignation as next steps and answers have yet to be given.

He’s my mayor and Alabama might get a bad Rep but Calera is a diverse community and the last thing we need is a mayor who is not backing that diversity at all times. Most of us are not like that here and it’s disappointing that our mayor is.

ALSO, the man speaking at the podium in the first clip is as genuine as they come. Him and his wife have been staples for many young people in the calera community and are some of the most loving people. Calera is full of genuine people and is very diverse and they need people in their public offices representing these people of the community. Not encouraging hate speech of any kind. You can say whatever you want in your home, that does not mean that your actions are without consequences. I encourage resignation and let somebody who wants to represent the community in its ENTIRETY represent.

This is ridiculous. The First Amendment applies to someone's personal dwelling, which means home. This is not taking up for him, it's asking the question, is society safe at home? Can a citizen be themselves, in the dwelling that they spend their money to pay for. If you are upset and causing a ruckus about this and nothing that has come out of the WH in the past 2 years, then you are the problem.
