Notice how when Gyatso holds Aang’s head it’s positioned higher, and when Aang turns around he looks up and Gyatso is shown looking down. This is because Aang only ever knew Gyatso as being taller than him when Aang was a child, he cannot fathom even being the same height or even taller than Gyatso 😢🥺
