in my opinion war for Cybertron ( the netflix series ) did it the absolute best. I love the dark atmosphere and the fact that nothing is sugar coated like in the other series

The comics expand a lot on this, that’s why I the more than meets the eye series from IDW and the last of the wreckers although I do understand why people would think liking the wreckers is more about being an edgelord than actually liking the story but it’s pretty good if you read more than just the 1st issue
