@coricrna: How to become a certified registered nurse anesthetist (CRNA) starting at high school. I surprisingly get a lot of DMs from high schoolers asking me what steps they should take. First, apply to nursing school. You can either 1) get an associates degree (2 year degree), start working when you graduate, and while you are working as a nurse, get your BSN online. This should only take you 1 year. or 2) just get your bachelors degree (4 year). You will need a bachelors degree to apply to CRNA school. You cannot apply with only an associates degree. Focus on your grades in nursing school. You will need AT LEAST a 3.5 gpa to apply to CRNA school. If you don’t get good grades in nursing school, you will be required to retake classes. Next, get a job in the icu once you graduate nursing school. You’ll have to work there for a minimum of one year but it’s better to get a couple years under your belt before applying. #crna #crnaschool #nurse #healthcare
