Letting a pet go during a good moment is the hardest but most dignifying process. It’s a way to remember them forever as they are, not as the shell they can become in sickness. I hope you see him in something every day, Maddie. He’s always going to be a part of you.

Rudder is so very loved. He’ll only know a life full of happiness, adventures with his momma and very best friend, and no pain. Letting them go before we are ready is heartbreaking, but taking on the pain of losing them so they don’t have to feel any pain is the kindest thing we can do.
