@bellytobabyrn: Moms who gave birth without pain medication, this is your moment to share the things you wish someone had told you. 👇 Was it how intense contractions felt? The sounds you made? The positions that helped? The moment you thought, “I can’t do this,” and what helped you through it? Every labor is different, and there’s no one right way to give birth. But hearing honest experiences can help a first-time mom feel a little more prepared for what might come her way. 🩷 So tell us: What’s one thing you’d tell a first-time mom to expect during an unmedicated labor and birth? And mamas reading the comments: take what feels helpful, leave what doesn’t, and talk through your questions with your healthcare team. ✨ #UnmedicatedBirth #FirstTimeMom #BirthPreparation #LaborAndDelivery #BellyToBabyCoaching
Sign the consent for the epidural… if you have to have an emergency C-section and you haven’t signed the consent…. They can cut you open without numbing you first. It happened to a friend of mine that was planning a completely unmedicated birth.😭

Pitocin contractions are way worse than normal conditions. Hypnobirth is a lifesaver! Presser points, birth comb or a acupressure mat, a fan, and learn the different stages of labor so you can understand what is happening with your body!

Know how to breathe well. Two natural births, one on pitocin and one not. You have to know how to breathe well through contractions. The only way out is through

Literally so many things 😂 giving birth whether you go unmedicated, epidural, or c section is the most powerful and magical thing you will ever do. It is okay to not be able to do it unmedicated. But if you plan to go unmedicated and it is safe for you to stick to that plan, make sure you’re ready to advocate for yourself or designate someone to do so for you. Remember to RELAX you’ll progress so much faster if you let your body do the work. Start practicing forcing your body to relax when it wants to tense up in pain. Make a playlist to keep your body swaying and moving. When you think you can’t do it anymore 9 times out of 10 that means you no longer have the option to change your mind… baby is RIGHT THERE. Laboring and delivering was truly a mental game for me, not a physical one. I constantly reassured myself that each contraction was just bringing my baby closer to me. Snack and drink a ton of water :) i literally loved giving birth unmedicated for both my kids and plan to have another unmedicated birth with my future children God willing! It is actually an addicting experience 😂 and you GOT THIS!!!

Your body knows what to do, you just may not like it but after you will feel like a bad bitch that’s for sure.

Have several ideas for pain management! I loved the TENS unit! Thought I would love a labor comb but instead my doula had these spiky wooden balls that were better. I also planned on getting in the water and wasn’t able to make it happen. I’m glad I had several ideas ready to go

Positive affirmations in your head and relaxing your body as much as possible helps a lot to get through contractions. When I remembered to do those thing it brought the pain down a ton!

Breath through the contractions, have someone read the monitor… the monitor tells you when you’re about to have a contraction, and allows you to prepare yourself.

No matter what labor you want to have prepare to go unmedicated! If I did not prepare that would have been awful. I HIGHLY recommend yoga, never peed myself postpartum or pregnant!

I’d say breath buuuut if you panic you won’t be able to. Just gave birth for the second time today. Try to let your mind go blank, focus on one object in the room and when you’re about to contract start your breathing then and make them deeeeep. I kind of lost control at the end because my son’s head was biiiig but if you can summon your inner wild Mama bear roar you’ll be just fine ❤️❤️

I felt like I was going to PUKE and was so hot right before I had to start pushing. It was the worst feeling I almost panicked from that feeling alone

Umm be ready for no epidural regardless because you might get there when it’s too late to get one 😅 (I was planning on unmedicated, but went from getting a bed to holding a baby in 20 minutes). I barely waited to go in—I thought maybe it was labor at 8a, left for hospital at like 12:15p, baby born at 2p.

I stayed home until I felt like I couldn't handle the contractions at all anymore. I wanted some type of pain meds, just not the epidural and as soon as I got to the hospital they broke my water and I just had to get through it. It was so painful, but literally the moment my son was born I was amazing. up and walking within like an hour, very little pain, recovery felt way faster than my first that I got an epidural with too
