My first 99th percentile baby failed induction, developed a fever failed epidural emergency c, blood loss, follow up surgery, currently 30 weeks with my second 99th percentile & torn between vbac & elective c, and the guilt that follows not only that but the absolute anxiety of fear of the lack of support postpartum & through recovery… your videos actually give me a sense of security and calm and I cannot thank you enough for that

Childbirth, sections specifically are so normalized. We forget just how abnormal some of it can be. I, for one, have the deepest trauma from my urgent section. Five vaginal births. Meconium, NICU stays, etc. but nothing compares to how messed up my mind became after my section.

For me it was the hemorrhaging. I went into shock seeing it all but my midwives did a good job telling me what was happening. I’m glad I’m okay but all I could think was these are the first and last moments with my baby

Even at its lowest intervention and where everything seems ok birth can still be deeply traumatising for some women.

My epidural failed completely. 20 hour labor. Baby was stuck and came out purple. My brain has blocked out so much of my labor to protect me. I never want to go through that again

i was 16 when i had my first baby i tell everyone it is very traumatic for a child because i was still a child to give birth but i wouldn’t trade him for the world 27 years later

65 hour failed induction due to surprise preeclampsia diagnosed at 40 weeks followed by an infection and a surprise c-section.. that was one traumatizing thing, but my baby ended up with a cut below the clamp on his umbilical cord somehow; causing him to become hypoxic. he had to be transported to the NICU at childrens for cooling therapy due to HIE.. not hearing him cry was beyond awful, then they took him away. my poor husband thought we were both going to die as I was in and out. then I had to be in recovery and the mother baby unit without my baby hearing other babies cry. the whole situation was awful.
