@comprehensive.update: Garth Brooks Cancels New Kansas City Show After More Than 90,000 People Flood Ticket Queue Garth Brooks is apologizing to fans after a ticket sale went wrong. The 64-year-old country star added a Saturday matinee on Nov. 7 at the T-Mobile Center in Kansas City. It was part of his Blame It All on My Roots Tour. He announced it on Oct. 21, writing, “KC, HOW ABOUT ONE MORE?!” Tickets went on sale Friday, Oct. 23. According to a notice on his website, more than 90,000 people were in the queue. Most of them “turned out to be bots.” The notice says the bots held tickets across the floor and lower bowl. That limited access for real fans. It became serious enough that T-Mobile Center and AXS shut down the sale. The matinee was then canceled. Brooks posted a statement on Facebook. “The bot situation is out of hand,” he wrote. He said it has been “progressively getting worse on this tour.” “You have my word that all that can be done will be done,” he said. “You have my deepest apologies.” Some people did get tickets. His website says they will be refunded automatically. The matinee was his own idea. He said he felt fans were left unable to get tickets in the first sale. His two original Kansas City shows, on Nov. 6 and 7, are still on. Seattle went differently. All three dates sold out quickly, so he added a fourth. Should artists do more to stop bots from taking tickets? #garthbrooks #kansascity #new #music #countrymusic
