@nourishingapothecary: Replying to @Georgia McMahon Your prenatal isn’t just for the nine months you’re pregnant. One of the questions I get asked most is when to start taking one, and whether to stop once baby arrives. Ideally, we’re having this conversation around three months before you start trying to conceive. That gives us time to review your food intake, identify any deficiencies and choose appropriate supplementation. Folic acid is particularly important before conception because the baby’s neural tube develops very early, often before you know you’re pregnant. Australian guidance recommends starting it before trying. (pregnancybirthbaby.org.au) Already trying or just found out you’re pregnant? Start the conversation now. You haven’t missed your opportunity to support your nutrition. During pregnancy, your nutritional needs change as your baby grows. The first trimester isn’t the finish line for reviewing what you need. And after birth, your nutrition still matters. Recovery, blood loss, disrupted meals and breastfeeding can all influence the support you need. I often continue nutritional support into postpartum, then review the formula and duration according to your diet, blood results and whether you’re breastfeeding. Iodine supplementation is recommended through breastfeeding too. (pregnancybirthbaby.org.au) The two products I’m showing are Naternal Vitamins EverNatal and Land Lab Mother Dose. Both are formulated for preconception, pregnancy and postpartum support. Choose one appropriate formula rather than taking both together. If nausea makes your prenatal difficult to tolerate, speak up. Taking it with an evening meal or adjusting the formulation may help. Follow the storage instructions on your particular product. The goal is consistent nutritional support that suits you through each stage. You can find EverNatal and Mother Dose on our website. What is the difference between preconception and prenatal vitamins please?
I currently take Naturobest preconception. You mentioned taking prenatals 3-6 months before trying to conceive.
