@emis.asia: Yellow gel under a hydrocolloid dressing can be normal. It does not automatically mean pus. A hydrocolloid dressing contains tiny gel-forming particles in an adhesive layer. When wound fluid touches those particles, they drink it up and swell into a soft gel that keeps the wound surface moist. For suitable wounds, a moist environment can help new skin form. The moisture also helps your body own enzymes soften and break down dead tissue. Some can stay on for up to seven days. But it is not for heavy drainage, infection, deep wounds, or diabetic feet. Change sooner if it leaks or the seal lifts. Seek medical advice for increasing pain, spreading redness, warmth, swelling or wound deterioration.
