@uncover.quantum: Scientists have achieved a major breakthrough in antimatter research, trapping a single antimatter particle for months and controlling its quantum state for the first time. Physicists at Northwestern University captured a positron, the antimatter counterpart of an electron, and cooled it to just 0.3 degrees above absolute zero. Using carefully controlled electric and magnetic fields, the researchers suspended the particle inside a near-perfect vacuum, preventing it from touching ordinary matter and annihilating. The team created a “one-positron quantum cyclotron,” allowing them to manipulate and observe individual quantum energy states with remarkable precision. Why is this important? One of the biggest mysteries in physics is why our universe contains far more matter than antimatter. By studying electrons and positrons with extraordinary precision, scientists hope to uncover tiny differences that could challenge our understanding of fundamental physics. This experiment doesn’t solve that mystery, but it opens a new path toward answering it.

Be more specific. Antimatter is the description term. Which atom?

John Massa :

Should have bought us all a coke and a smile 😊

leahthenaturopath :

I think its a good thing we dont have too much antimatter.

Trust me,I'm a dutch engineer. :

Maybe the positron has same properties as electron, but opposite.... then we have no explanation for how the universe exists and the hunt continues.

Hunucru :

I don't understand any of that. but I'm glad y'all did it. bravo

MyKatanA❌ :

What happened to it after however many months?

__Tachyфn__ :

Well, that explains that....

larry :

What’s that actually mean?

I absolutely love super intelligent human beings. This is amazing

MikeKrill$ :

yep

flyusa21 :

ANYONE CAN DO THAT

Zaidy :

Fantastic - now tell us why it ‘matters’?

Robert Paulson :

I’d rather have universal healthcare, or a sane president.
