@hybridcalisthenics: Is your exercise working the muscle(s) you think? Although it's not a perfect test, you can note which muscles reach failure first during your set. It's not always what you're expect. For example, during pullups, some people have their grip give out way before their backs and arms. At an extreme degree, their backs and arms aren't getting much work at all if they slip off in a few seconds. On the other hand, you don't have to bring those muscles to failure just to grow and strengthen them. Pushups are a good example of a compound exercise that will generally strengthen your chest, arms, and shoulders even if they don't reach failure at the same time. However, if you'd like to focus on any of those, consider adjusting your technique and grip to give that area some more work. This has been really important for me in the past few years. I used to prefer compound exercises for everything, but giving some isolated focus can really help strengthen some weak parts. Have a wonderful day! #hybridcalisthenics
