I’ve been seeing a lot of peoples cutie Amtrak videos which had me straight dying to go on a train. I have a trip booked and I’m still SUPER excited. But I NEEDED to see the dark side of how things can go wrong. It’s gave a very much needed perspective, that I hadn’t thought of.

my grandma took amtrak from cali to austin once a year. Amtrak was always late, we once sat at the station till 3am because the train struck a car like 5 miles from the station

I had same experience taking train from Seattle to Montana for ski trip. Avalanche on track. Terrible.

You should have downloaded things from Netflix and playlists from Spotify. I travel by train often and always make sure I've done that. It's a lifesaver. And always bring booze and food!

I will never do amtrack again it took 3 days to get from San Antonio to texarkana same issue plus backup on rails for cargo trains.
