Mine always run away and I feel weird about chasing them…like I don’t want them to get that scary adrenaline rush from being chased? Does that make sense?

You have substantially helped me parent my 2 year old! I’ve been using your techniques since she was little enough to use them and she is such a good little girl. Question about the “big feelings” therapy sessions, at what age are these conversations valuable?

How do you physically make them do things though? i get you can carry them somewhere... but how do you make them stay sitting at the dinner table, make them lay in bed etc?

Do you have any videos on what to do if your child gets a “bad behavior” report from preschool? 3 year old? We talked about it in the car on the way home but I know their minds are like so far from what happened earlier in the day, idk if anything gets through if that makes sense!

And just listen to your kids scream for 27 minutes in the car seat as you drive? And wonder if you have traumatised them by being physically restraining them and walking away.. I’m trying but ir feels yucky

Please help me lol I’m a single mom to two year old twins. All of this is super practical with one child but when they’re BOTH running away or fighting sleep. One of them is always doing something wrong making the other riled up

I usually try to give them a choice for the direction. So instead of “let’s go to bed” it’s “do you want me to read you a bedtime story or do you want me to play some relaxing music?” And for the car it would be “do you wanf to play ___ game while we are in the car or do you want some music?” Or do u want a snack for the road etc. I just distract them and make them feel like they are getting to choose stuff. What do you think of this?

I find the action part hard. My 3 year old is big and strong, and he has perfected going limp or planking (depending on which is more effective in the moment). He has also been kicking and wriggling, resulting in him hurting me. It’s very hard to put him in the car seat or remove him from a situation without a huge physical reaction, meaning it’s virtually impossible. Even when I get him into the car, he’ll lay on the floor or jump into the front seat.

How do you feel about count downs? With my two year old, we'll tell her to do something (like get in her car seat) and she'll be a little stink. We'll then say 'I'm going to count down from 5 and if you haven't done it, Momma or Dada will do it.' It has about a 95% success rate, because it seems like she'd rather do it herself then be forced (even though it's not up for debate). Is that bad?

sometimes my son refuses to go to bed. So i just get our stuff, and his sister and i walk upstairs ... he follows usually in a few minutes with no fuss at all. 😅 is that bad? cause i'm not chasing him around cause he loves that.
