@mscarpio: I used to feel bad whenever I feel this, lol Like it meant I was petty, or behind, or both. Then I realized mine wasn’t the kind that wants someone else to lose. It was the kind that looks at their life and goes: wait… that could be me too. There’s a word for it. Benign envy. It doesn’t hope they fall. It hopes you rise. So when it hits now, I don’t spiral. I get specific. What am I actually jealous of? A habit? A boundary? A skill? A season of courage? Then I borrow the inspiration and build my own version. If they can do it, I can do it too. Not as a copy. As proof that it’s possible. Who are you jealous of in a good way right now? Comment their first name or the thing they do. Slide 8, I like how you put it! Honestly when I see someone who I knew, was a batchmate or the same age of mine who's successful I don't get really jealous but happy for them and also because they represent that it is truly possible to live that kind of life. I get curious how that must feel to be that successful and how they achieve it! And also it brings me a mew perspective, a mind shift of how I view things in my life. It feels like they set a standard for me.
