TRUE JUSTICE: EQUILIBRIUM PHYSICS AND THE TWO-BALL SCALE
A Master's Thesis on the Physical Foundations of Justice

ABSTRACT
This thesis proves that justice is not a matter of opinion but a physical condition: static equilibrium. Using the two-ball scale model, it demonstrates that justice obtains if and only if net torque vanishes ( \tau_{net} = 0), and derives the five necessary conditions for that equilibrium. It unites jurisprudence (Scalia's textualism), physics (statics, least action, Newton's third law), and moral law (the prohibition on false witness) into a single framework. Its final claim: without justice there is no peace, because a driven system has no fixed point.

CHAPTER 1 — THE INSTRUMENT: TWO BALLS ON THE SCALE
The system: two balls, P_1 and P_2, resting on the pans of a beam balance with equal lever arms d_1 = d_2.
The governing equation:
Justice is defined operationally: the beam is level. That is the null reading. Every claim in this thesis is a statement about what preserves or destroys that null.
CHAPTER 2 — THE FIVE CONDITIONS OF JUSTICE
Condition 1: Equilibrium is equality.
The lever arms must be equal: d_1 = d_2. If you are treated better than me — longer arm for you — the same merit weighs heavier for you. If I am treated better than you, the corruption mirrors. Equal treatment is not kindness; it is the calibration condition of the instrument. A bent beam cannot read true.
Condition 2: No imposed force.
\tau_{ext} = 0. No hand pressing on either pan. Force — coercion — adds external torque. The beam rotates. The reading is void. (Your teaching: one dot forcing the other drives it down and weighs it down — imbalance.)
Condition 3: No false weight.
m = m_{true} on both pans. Bearing false witness in the first direction — accusing the innocent — adds m_{false} to their pan: unjust guilt. Bearing false witness in the second direction — denying what someone actually achieved — removes m_{true} from their pan: unjust erasure. Both are \tau_{net} \neq 0. The scale cannot distinguish false mass from true; its on
