My parents cat is 10. She’s always been extremely aloof and never showed anyone a bit of affection or mind. In the last year, she’s became incredible loving and affectionate. Vet says she has dementia. She forgets she hates everyone lolol

my oldest girl is a little affectionate but she started being pushy with it... took her to the vet. She had kidney issues. some antibiotics and a special diet later, we're back to being aloof most of the time

We figured out it was because I'm in peri and dropped our night time temp down to 65. Apparently the cats sleep with us now because they are cold.

My cat was always so mean and non affectionate and then one night she wouldn’t get off me and kept being so clingy on my chest and for the whole night i was annoyed turns out the day after i went to the Er bc i was bleeding out and had heart palpitations due to blood loss when I was in the Er my sister stayed in my room because my cat was crying and she was stressed until i came back she was then affectionate then a few days went back to hating me lol

honestly how old is the kitty? some times their attitudes change with age! my lil boy used to independent as could be, he would ignore pets and cuddles, only come to me when i had food for him. hit 4 years old and he is telling me when its bedtime and wake up time with little meows. Cuddles at night and greats me at the door every day

I would be scared for my own life but how do you go to the doctor and say I am here because my cat just started being affectionate. 🤣 The cat is probably having a midlife crises and decided you were alright to be with.

OK I hope this is not the case but there might be something wrong with you that the cat senses. I'm telling you they have supernatural instincts. I hope this is not the case. I hope you are very very healthy but I have seen this scenario a few times as a nurse!! hard to believe at first but I now know cats are mystical best of luck to you and your kitty i am praying everything goes well
