@fish_on_fridays: 🔴 A Damp Grave. A Sweet Perfume. A 500-Year Posture. THE DESPAIR In 1463, Saint Catherine of Bologna, a deeply holy Poor Clare nun, passed away. Because of a rush, she was buried without a coffin, her body placed directly into the damp, wet earth. THE TRAP Weeks later, sisters at the convent began to smell a massive, overwhelming scent of sweet flowers coming from the graveyard. Believing they had made a mistake, they dug up her grave, expecting to find her body rotting in the mud. THE VEIL PIERCED When they uncovered the dirt, the veil of biology was pierced. Catherine's body was perfectly intact, soft, and flexible. It was her body producing the incredibly sweet, heavenly perfume. Astonished, they washed her and dressed her in her habit. Because her body was so flexible, they decided to place her in a seated position in a chair. THE FADE That was over 500 years ago. Today, the incorrupt body of Saint Catherine of Bologna is still sitting entirely upright in a golden chair in a chapel in Italy. She has never been embalmed, and there are no hidden supports holding her up. Science cannot explain it. Death has absolutely no sting for those who belong to Christ. #CatholicHistory #StCatherineOfBologna #Incorruptibles #CatholicMiracles #Saints
