@kaylaraecampbellre: Hollywood nights from Mulholland Drive, April 1957. 🌃🚘✨ Before smartphones and social media, scenic overlooks like this were popular places to park, enjoy the city lights, and take in the view. Photographed looking east toward Hollywood, this incredible nighttime scene captures Los Angeles illuminated below, with classic 1950s automobiles in the foreground. Look closely at the upper left and you can spot the Capitol Records Building, which had opened just one year earlier in 1956! Also visible in the distance are some of Hollywood’s historic landmarks, including the Taft Building. Nearly 70 years later, Mulholland Drive remains one of Los Angeles’ most iconic places to admire the city from above.
