Nope, Shirley judges it like any other ballroom competition. She will not let her standards slip because it’s a tv show. She’s still an active dance teacher so she stays true to herself.

I really think that she did great. She was very accurate with her judging. And she showed that the judges on their are very soft and judge the competitor as the competitor and not the dance.

Here’s the thing, she scores tough but she’s so incredibly pleasant and very informative about it. And with her experience and caliber, I expect her to have a very high standard that isn’t necessarily based on the celebrity alone, but also the expectations she has of the pros they are paired with.
